Just Ask for Writing Help…

When people find out I’m an English teacher, I generally get 1 of 2 responses.  They either warn me ahead of time of their bad grammar, thinking that I’m going to judge them for it (I am, by the way, haha!), or they will tell me that they are just not a writer.

The truth is, I am only a writer because I write. And I’m guilty of saying the same thing about speaking. I generally make the statement that I am not much of a speaker.

The real truth though? I’m only not a speaker because I don’t speak, don’t practice, and don’t care to; but there are times I HAVE to speak.

During the times I have to speak, I do TWO things.  1. I speak anyways. 2. I ask speakers for advice.

Many times when people who say they aren’t writers have to write, they write anyways and they hopefully ask writers for help.

I have a secret… I ask for writing help, too!! When I write large publishable pieces, my manuscripts, and more. I need help. So my option is to pay big bucks for an editor or use Grammarly.

So, whatever kind of writer you are…

If you are a freelance writer, blog writer, fiction or nonfiction writer…

If you are a self-proclaimed non-writer…

If you are a college student…

If you are an English Learner or English as a Second Language student…

To anyone who has to write for any reason, you should have been on Grammarly years ago… but I forgive you. Haha! I think it is finally time to give in and let the automation do the hard work for you… just give in and stop stressing. Oh, and stop asking your friends or your former English teacher to do the editing work for you. Haha! We love you, but we are overwhelmed with about 150 essays to grade for finals.
